They say poets are tortured
emotional beings
With a heart bruised and left
alone
They say poets are tortured
souls
Haunted minds, left
unredeemed
So I have become no exception
Of this lay minded assumption
They say poets aren't normal
folks
Who easily cheer and toast
And forget bad times and woes
They say poets are silent
noise makers
With disturbing words on
papers
Spreading wide in twisted
natures
So I have become no exception
I have lost a portion of a once
cheered heart
After the pills and potions
got spilled up
In a deadly reaction
Wherever she is my heart is
bruised
My soul is emotionally
tortured
My mind is utterly haunted
Left unredeemed
As the lay minded man assumed
